READ TOGETHER / WEBSITE ACTIVITY / 2 MIN READ

Three questions for your next storytime.

A story can be the beginning of a conversation. Try these simple prompts with a young reader, and leave room for answers that surprise you.

01. “What do you notice?”

Before you begin, look at the title and artwork together. Invite your reader to describe a detail that catches their eye. Make a prediction about the adventure ahead.

02. “What would you do?”

Pause at a moment of discovery or a difficult choice. Wonder together about the character’s feelings. There is no need to rush toward one right answer.

03. “What stays with you?”

After reading, ask about a favorite moment or a surprising new idea. Draw a scene, invent a new friend for the character, or imagine what happens next.
